In this newly-created role, Dorsey’s portfolio will expand to include responsibility for the Company’s technology and supply chain, as well as the entirety of its finance operation. These new responsibilities are in addition to his existing oversight of all aspects of McClatchy’s digitally-driven business transformation.
“This promotion is testament to the breadth and depth of Jeff’s contributions to McClatchy,” said Chairman and CEO Tony Hunter. “In less than one year, he has executed on several business-critical initiatives, bringing his strategic mindset and industry expertise to bear in service of our ongoing transformation. Jeff is collaborative, innovative and a first-class person. As we continue our leap into the future, I have tremendous confidence in his ability to drive outstanding results and extend the next generation of our innovative market leadership.”
Dorsey joined McClatchy in October 2020 after a 15 year career with Tribune, where he held progressively responsible positions before being named SVP and Chief Information Officer in 2015. That same year, he was a recipient of Chicago United’s Business Leaders of Color Award. Dorsey holds a bachelor of science in Industrial Management from Purdue University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
“This is a pivotal time, for both our Company and for the industry in general, as we all continue to navigate the new digital terrain,” said Dorsey. “McClatchy's vision, mission and strategy have never been more clear, compelling and differentiated. I'm proud and excited to partner with our talented team members.
